My name is Emília Dudášová, and my life path has been anything but straight.
My story began in Slovakia, in the city of Nitra, where i grew up surrounded by dogs. They were never “just pets” to me — they were family, my closest companions, and the ones who shaped who i am.
Throughout my life, i searched for my place in the world. And then came the moment when i packed my things, took my dog Onyx, and decided to start over. That decision brought me to the north of Norway, where i began working at the sled dog kennel riverland husky. What i found there was not just a job — but a second family and a place where i finally felt i belonged.
Later, i met my partner Thomas, and together we settled in the breathtaking valley of Dividalen. Today, we live on a small farm filled with laughter, wagging tails, and the energy of our 13 joyful dogs and two cats. They are so much more than animals — they are our friends, our teachers, and the heart of our family
Our journey is one of love, courage, and living in harmony with nature. And above all, it’s a journey shaped by the dogs who teach us every single day what loyalty, joy, and freedom truly mean — and how to overcome challenges together.
At the moment, i am fully dedicated to training our dogs for long-distance sled dog races. For me, it is a huge personal challenge — pushing my limits, stepping out of my comfort zone, and caring for the entire team so that we can all reach the finish line together.
My biggest dream is the legendary finnmarksløpet 600 km, the toughest sled dog race in europe, which we are preparing for this season. We believe that together — my dogs and i — we can complete this journey with strength, heart, and trust in one another.
